Buddhist Meditation at U.Va starting in January

I will be teaching a survey course in Buddhist meditation techniques again in 2011 at U.Va. through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. It will meet on Monday evenings, 6:30-8:30 at Zehmer Hall off of Alderman Road, from January 24 through March 21. Register through SCPS

Here's a brief course description:

This course surveys traditional meditation practices of Buddhist cultures found in Thailand, Tibet, and Japan, and explores their assimilation in America. Topics include breathing meditation, cultivation of mindfulness, altruism, compassion, Zen, and recovering innate intelligence.
